How to edit a WordPress post
If you already created and published a WordPress post you might want to edit it. This is quite simple and it is done just like creating your post. Begin by logging into your WordPress dashboard and click on “Posts” in the menu. A list of all posts will be visible. Click the title of the post you want to edit. You can also use the “Edit post” link underneath the post title.
1: Edit the title
The title will be filled out with your original title. Edit the title if you like. Be aware that a change in the page title could also benefit from a change in the permalink. This depends on how old the post is. If it is an old post you should keep the permalink or at least create a 301 redirect. If you just published the post you can edit the permalink to match the title for better SEO results.
2: Edit the description
If you nee to edit your description it is quite easy. Delete the part you don’t need and just replace it with your new content.
3: Edit categories
If you selected any categories when publishing the post they will have a checkmark. You can add more categories or remove the post from any category. Just set your checkmarks in the categories the post should be added to.
4: Edit tags
If you added tags when publishing you will also see these. You can easily delete the tags from the post you no longer wish or add additional tags to the post.
5: Edit the featured image
If you need to add a new image to you post you can click the “Replace image” button underneath the featured image. Just upload og select a new image from the media library and you are done. If the post did not have a featured image you can add one by clicking “Add featured image”. In the same way you can upload or select an image from the media library.
Don’t forget to click the “Update” button when you are done.
